– Hi, my name is Megan Cascio and I’m the Business Development Manager here at NFM Lending and I just reached my one-year anniversary last week. So my dad has been in the mortgage industry for over 25 years, so I grew up around the industry. My brother’s also a loan officer at a company right now, and he’s doing great. So it’s just kind of running in the family. I was a cheerleader growing up my entire life and ever since I went to my first Ravens game, when I was in probably fifth grade, I knew that I wanted to be a Ravens cheerleader. So it was something that I’ve worked for my entire life. And when I was 18 years old, I tried out right away, fresh out of high school. And I actually did not make it my first two years trying out, it took me three times to make it, so that taught me a lot of perseverance and hard work and I just kept coming back stronger. And I finally made the team and absolutely loved my experience there. I ended up cheering for five seasons. I was the captain my last season. I got to go to the Super Bowl, which was an amazing experience. We even got a picture with Tori Smith after the game, which was awesome. And even traveling overseas to do military tours, I went to Djibouti, Africa, and I mean, most importantly, we got to cheer for 70,000 fans, which was so exhilarating. After a couple of years on the team, it was five years that I did, and I just thought it was time to move on and just focus on my career. So I’ve been familiar with NFM Lending for a while now. I was a little hesitant to make a career change at the time, you know, we’re in the middle of a pandemic, so no one really knows what was going to happen or where the market was going to go. But I just really felt a good feeling when I talked to the company. So one of my favorite parts about being a Ravens cheerleader was the community service that we did. We worked a lot with the Ronald McDonald House specifically, and I loved going to visit the kids and bring them activities and things to do. It was a really fun part of being a cheerleader. And when I came to NFM, what I really loved is that they also do a lot of community outreach and giving back, so I thought that that was something that was really important when finding a new company. And I just love that we were able to kind of tie that together. There’s a lot of security here. It’s a family-oriented environment. I think they just really make you feel valued as an employee and that you’re really part of a team, that you’re part of the family. So I went with my gut and I made the move about a year ago. And I’m so happy that I did.
